  • If the american democracy is in the hands of officials like steele, something is definately going wrong. Attacking Obama , even waging war on him with false and twisted arguments seems to be ok, even though everybody knows he is talking nonsense.

  • the beef in gravy with beer (called stoofvlees or "stove meat") is more or less our national dish, but you can also ask for the sauce, without the beef, and poor it over your frites. it's my favourite!

  • nice article, but as a belgian, i don't think that much of brussels. The 'grand place' and its direct surroundings are very nice indeed, but once you stray away from there, brussels becomes rather unpleasant and ugly, except if you know exactly where to go.

  • Im sorry but if he really thinks that the "French authorities"  have no laws, then what was he doing there? In a murder trial, the prosecutor may possess the murder weapon. does that mean that the defender must have an exact copy of the murder weapon? Off course not.

  • This is unfair. first of all, he was not castrated: only one testicle was removed. Normally the remaining testicle can produce enough testosterone for an average man, but probably not for a top athlete.  There is nothing dishonourable about compensating a lower testosterone level.

  • I agree that they were all doping, and that the permormance of even mediocre riders was almost superhuman. But why does armstrong want to maintain that he was just about the only one who was clean? Why do you think nobody believes his claims that he was clean?

  • Eric, i'm afraid that there is a rider who has been hurt by a spectator. In 1975, the great Eddy Merckx was on his way to his 6th victory when he was punched hard in the liver by a spectator. This, together with a broken cheekbone from a fall cost him the victory.

  • If he is not doping, then why did he pick Dr Michele ferrari as his personal physician? This docter openly states that anything that is not forbidden (yet) is not doping.
